GRIFFITH'S NECK - Lorraine B. Willey, 80, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on Oct. 16, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Elizabeth Price Bradshaw Sr.
She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1944. On June, 23, 1944 she was married to Harold L. Willey. Mrs. Willey worked as a bookkeeper for Robbins Canning Co. and also for Scofield Piling Co.
In 1958, she went to work at the Eastern Shore Rendering Co. and retired in 1996 after 38 years as office manager.
Mrs. Willey was a member of the Cambridge Lodge No. 1211 Loyal Order of the Moose, Cambridge Lodge No. 127, PTA, and Roelma Chapter, #113 Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends and cooking and was most remembered for her annual Easter Egg hunts and for helping those in need.
Mrs. Willey had been a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and currently was a member of Bucktown United Methodist Church. She had been in failing health for the past several years and was admitted to Dorchester General Hospital on Thursday where she passed away on Saturday afternoon.
Survivors include: her husband, Harold L. Willey of Griffith's Neck: one daughter, Darlene W. Kotulich of Griffith's Neck; a son, Dick Willey of Griffith's Neck; four grandchildren, Chuck Wright of Griffith's Neck, Betsy Wharton of Griffith's Neck, Megan Willey of Knoxville, TN and Brian Willey of Chicago, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Brooks of Griffith's Neck, Katie Wright of Cambridge and Sierra Wright of Cambridge; one brother, Benjamin F. Bradshaw of Cambridge; three sister-in-law, Becky Bradshaw of Cambridge, Mildred Bennett of Salisbury and Laura Willey of Cambridge; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Ruark and a brother, Richard Bradshaw Jr.
Members of Roelma Chapter #113 will conduct a Memorial Service on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, which will be followed by a funeral service with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey officiating. Burial will follow at Bucktown United Methodist Church yard.
The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be: Scott Hughes, Rick Bradshaw, Chris Nagel, Wade Willey, Brian Willey and John Brannock. Memorial contributions may be made either to Bucktown United Methodist Church c/o Mrs. Barbara Harrison, 2978 Greenbriar Road, Cambridge, MD, 21613 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 209C Milford Street, Salisbury, MD 21804.
