Loraine Atkinson

SALISBURY - Loraine R. Atkinson, 94, of Salisbury died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Delmar Nursing Home. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Levin Poole Richardson and Bessie Hasset Richardson. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, Happy Timers, and Koineans. She is survived by six children, Patricia English of Salisbury, Gilbert Atkinson of Prarie du Rocher, Ill., Katherine "Kit" Turner of Salisbury, Barbara Herman of Salisbury, Franklin Atkinson of Waconia, Minn., and Penny Williams of Trappe; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Atkinson in 1989; a grandson; four brothers, and two sisters. A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed in Parsons Cemetery.
