NANTICOKE - Linwood Hunter, Jr., 83, of Nanticoke, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Delmar. Born in Hertford County, N.C., he was a son of the late Linwood Hunter Sr. and Elsie Hunter. He served in the U.S. Navy and later used his skills as an electric motor repair man, working for Delmarva Electric Motors in Salisbury, a job he thoroughly enjoyed for over 30 years. He was was a fixture at the roundtable of Wade's Coffee Club of Nanticoke and he was a member of the VFW Post 8276 of Delmar. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Sue Robertson of Salisbury; a son, Michael "Mike" L. Hunter of Delmar; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evie Mae Greene of Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ida Estep Hunter; and two sisters. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment with military honors followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
