Levin Hitchens III has officially replaced Steve Roser as the Wicomico County government’s Internal Auditor.
A county resident, Hitchens graduated from Wilmington University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2013.
He began working with the county in November 2017 as the Assistant Internal Auditor, and recently received the title as a Certified Internal Auditor.
Prior to his employment with the county, he worked for Maryland Capital Enterprises Inc. as Finance Director.
The Internal Auditor, under the direction of the County Council, performs financial analyses and internal audits of county operations.
Assignments are varied in nature and, where applicable, are carried out in accordance with applicable standards.
The Internal Auditor reports directly to the County Council and the office holder serves at the council’s pleasure.
The seven council members unanimously selected Hitchens for the post.
Roser had served as Internal Auditor since November 2010. He was given a formal send-off by the council at its Jan. 7 public meeting.
