Leroy Edward Kane

CAMBRIDGE - Leroy Edward Kane, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Deers Head Hospital, Salisbury. He was born March 29, 1945, in Cambridge, son of the late Henry E. Kane Sr. and Mary B. Marshall. Leroy was educated in the Dorchester County Public Schools where he graduated from Maces Lane High School Class of 1963. He was employed with various companies with the area. He retired from the State Mental facility in Salisbury. Leroy was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He is survived by a daughter, Leroynetta Kane; a grandson, Duran Kane; three great-grandchildren (all of Salisbury); three sisters, Alice Milbourne (Baltimore), Rachel Samalls (Manhattan, N.Y.) and Nellie Stanley (Bubbie), Cambridge; two brothers, Frederick Pinder (Greta), Salisbury, and Henry Kane (Baltimore); 17 nieces; eight nephews and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Pinder; and one sister, Lavern Camper Bernard. A memorial service will be 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St., Cambridge.
