Peele-Johnson, 91 SALISBURY - Lealer Burnette Peele-Johnson, of Prince George's County and formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Home Away from Home Assisted Living in Suitland, Md. Born in Williamston, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Edward Slade Peele, Jr. and Farie V. Clemon Peele. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury, where she served as a devoted member of the Pastor's Relations Ministry. She earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and was a professional educator. She was a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Beta Tau Chapter in Salisbury and the Retired Teachers Association of Wicomico County. She is survived by four sisters, Louise P. White, Elver P. Williams, Lossie P. Mills and Bernice D. Peele; three brothers, Howard E. Peele, Julius M. Peele and James S. Peele; a stepdaughter, Shirley Jones; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Barclif; second husband, Alford Johnson; two sisters, Maggie P. Taylor and O'Neal P. Fields; and two brothers, Floyd E. Peele and Edward S. Peele III. A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was at Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
