EASTON - Leah G. Thomas, 64, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007, at her daughter's residence in Easton after a short illness.

She was born Sept. 20, 1942, in Oxford, daughter of Helen Wilson and the late James E. Wilson Jr.

Leah was educated in the public schools of Talbot County. After graduation from Moton High Schools, Mrs. Thomas was employed with Hank Seafood and Via Vista until their closings. Her last place of employment was for 28 years with The Pines Genesis Health Care.

She attended Union United Methodist Church. On Oct. 11, 1968, she married Walter Rudolph Thomas Sr., who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and father, a brother, James Wilson III preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Thomas of Easton; granddaughter, Chadney Freeman of Easton; a stepson, Walter (Gloria) Thomas Jr. of Cambridge; four step-grandchildren, Michael, Cassandra, Jay and Justin; two sisters, Catherine (Leon) Fraser of Hurlock, and Martha Stanford of Wilmington; five brothers, Acre (Joan) Wilson and William (Theresa) Wilson all of Cambridge, Leon (Sylvia) Wilson of Easton, Avon Wilson of Salisbury, and Morris Wilson of Berlin; a half brother, Clarence Thomas of Easton; two aunts, Gladys Jenkins and Delores (Walter) Chase all of Trappe and Geneva Pritchett of Easton; an uncle, Lester (Rebecca) Wilson of Oxford; two sisters-in-law, Doris (Wilson) Cannon and Aretta (Ernest)Ritch all of St. Michaels; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Louise) Thomas of New Jersey and Marvin (Cynthia) Thomas of Baltimore; a close friend, Vanessa Duncan; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Union United Methodist Church, 100 Freeman St., St. Michaels, with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Charles Thomas Cemetery in St. Michaels. The Rev. Hilton Watson is officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge.
