A Salisbury native who is a three-sport standout and a two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American is headed to the University of Virginia this fall.

Lilly DiNardo, who was recently named to the First Team of U.S. Lacrosse, also played soccer and basketball at Worcester Prep in Berlin. She was named a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American in 2013 and was also the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2013.

She finished her junior year with 126 career goals.

Her coach in Charlottesville, can’t wait to get her on the Cavaliers.

"Lily DiNardo is a proven athlete in every sport that she has played and is constantly at the top of the leaderboard in all of her sports," Coach Julie Myers said.

"She is a natural athlete and has easy speed. It looks effortless for her to break away from her opponents."

The daughter of Dr. Iggy and Joanie Clark DiNardo, she is only player in the region to receive the U.S. Lacrosse First Team All American honor.

The only other Salisbury-area player to be named First Team-All American in the last five years was Parkside’s Brie Custis, who now plays at Notre Dame University.

At the private Berlin school, DiNardo captained the Mallards to a perfect 15-0 record and an ESIAC championship this season. A center-midfielder, she led her team in scoring with 59 goals this season, for an average of nearly four per game, and also took 90 percent of the draws.

DiNardo started and scored in every game of her high school career at Worcester Prep.

She will be attending UVA on a scholarship, and will begin her academic and athletic career there in August.
