TAYLORS ISLAND - Laura Ellen Jenkins, beloved wife of the late William R. Jenkins, of Taylors Island went to be with the Lord on Feb. 27, 2013. She was born March 11, 1928. She is survived by her loving longtime companion, Cecil Wood. She is also survived by three sons, Douglas Parker and wife Debra, Curtis Parker and wife Lois and William C. Jenkins; two daughters, Pam McElroy and husband Ray and Paula Kelley and husband Adam. She was like a stepmother to Barbara Fox and was a dear grandmother to Jason, Brad, Meredith, Chris, Lisa, Ashley, Courtney, Abigail, Amber, Justin, Eric (deceased), and Jeffrey. She is also survived by many great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at The Taylors Island United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. A fellowship lunch will follow at The Island Grille Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Taylors Island United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Taylors Island, MD, 21669. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
