KILLEEN, Texas - U.S. Army Retired Master Sgt. Larry Trusty, 58, of Killeen, Texas, died Dec. 31, 2006 at his home.
Born April 28, 1948, in Baltimore, he was the son of Sylvia Miles of Baltimore.
Mr. Trusty was a retired master sergeant and served 24 years in the U.S. Army. His medals included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, eighth award, Vietnam Service Medal with silver service star, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Numeral 3, Army service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Unit Citation Badge with palm and National Defense Service Medal with one Silver Star.
He is survived by his daughter, Tasha Trusty and her husband, Todd Mielke of Cambridge; a brother, Bruce Miles of Atlanta, and sisters, Yvonne Gary of Alexandria, Va., Rita Green and her husband, Frank of Woodbridqe, Va., and Charlene Trusty of Baltimore, and an expected grandchild, Sophia Nicole Mielke due April 26, 2007.
A funeral service will be held at noon today at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will occur at Arlington National Cemetery with military honors on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
