Larry Joe Kelly

MARION, Va. - Larry Joe Kelly age 64, passed away on Thursday May 12, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tenn. Mr Kelly was born in Fort Meade, Md. to the late Jack E. & Elizabeth Young Kelly. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack E. Kelly, Jr. Larry retired from the Cambridge Wire Cloth with over 28 years of service. He then moved to Marion, and worked at General Dynamics for 14 years, then recently been employed with the Smyth County Machine & Welding. He was Scout Master for 17 years for the Cambridge Boy Scouts Troop# 188. Larry was a local cattle farmer in Marion, and loved all his animals, especially Dude & Maggie. He was also a good friend and would help anybody who was in need. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia "Sue" Kelly, Marion; son, Jeffery A. Kelly & wife Amy, Md., and P. Brian Kelly & wife Lilita, Md.; step children, Patricia A. Taber, Md. and J. Daniel Reid, Marion; step mother, Rosa Lee Kelly, Del.; grandchildren, Parker Kelly, Tenn., Justin Kelly, Md., and Jack Kelly, Md.; step grandchildren, Christian Taber and Chasity Taber, Md.; and a special friend whom he thought of as a brother, Willis Richardson. The family would like to express a special Thank You to special friends; Willis and Phyllis Richardson, Donna Nunley, John and Rosalee Bordwine, Elizabeth and Junior Reedy, Christy and Jacob Waller, and Barbara and Kevin Nelson, who helped and offered love and support to Mr. Kelly and the Family during this difficult time. Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Reverend Donald Mutter officiating. The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Expression of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
