SALISBURY - Kazuo Hashimoto died from complications from surgery on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Puente, Calif., he had been married for seven years to Reiko Kobayashi Nelson, and was married to the late Marjorie T. Hashimoto for 49 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Takeo and Satsuko Hashimoto. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After trade school, he worked as a Poultry Technician for American Chick Sexing Association of Fayetteville, N.C., for 48 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Karen M. Cruz, of Vallejo, Calif., and Sharon R. Freedman, of Hebron; two grandchildren; a brother, Isamu Hashimoto, of Elmer, N.J.; four sisters, Toshie Harada, of Hillsdale, N.J., Reiko Yamasaki, of Bridgeton, N.J., Jane Nakao of Millville, N.J., and Marilyn Hashimoto of Vineland, N.J.; and numerous stepchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be a private inurnment service in Deerfield, N.J., at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
