SALISBURY - Kathryn "Kitty" Carey Hill died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Fruitland, she was a daughter of the late N. Paul and Flossie Sparrow Carey.
She was a longtime member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland. She retired in 1983 from Hess Apparel after 30 years of devoted service as a buyer and one-time Ocean City store manager. She also worked part time at Vernon Powell Shoes until her eyesight failed.
She is survived by her nephew, Steven M. Carey of Fruitland; one sister-in-law, Brenda Carey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Earl N. Hill Jr.; a brother, Eugene M. Carey; and an infant brother.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was in St. John's United Methodist Cemetery in Fruitland.
