Kathleen Dashiell Parker Mende

Parker Mende, 94 CAMBRIDGE - Kathleen Dashiell Parker Mende, 94, of Edgewater, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the South River Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Taylor's Island on Feb. 26, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Robert K. and Elsie Dashiell Parker. Mrs. Mende was married to the late Seward Maxwell Mende, Sr. on Dec. 25, 1937. Mrs. Mende was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She worked as a real estate agent for many years in Cambridge as well as being an artist of watercolors, as well as acrylics. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Elliott and her husband Daniel Elliott Sr. of Edgewater; a son, Seward M. Mende Jr. and his wife Linda J. Mende of Salisbury; a granddaughter, Christa Sensi of Salisbury; three grandsons, Daniel Elliott, Jr. of Linthicum, Greg Elliott of West Virginia and Robert Elliott of Davidsonville. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Seward Maxwell Mende, Sr. There will be no memorial service as per Mrs. Mende's request. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in her name to the Seasons Hospice Foundation, 6934 Aviation Blvd. Suite N-R, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
