CAMBRIDGE - Juanita Jones, 72, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Aug. 18, 1934, in Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late Ida Mae and James Jones and wife of Ernest H. Jones Sr.
She attended the public schools in Dorchester County and worked for various companies within the area. Mrs. Jones was a member of National Church of God.
She loved shopping, walking and visiting family and friends and talking on the telephone.
She is survived by her children, Bernice Beasley (Eddie), Diane Travers, Clementine Camper (Rodney), Joyce Jones, Ernestine Jones, all of Cambridge, Portia Breath (Richard) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ernest Jones Jr., James Jones, Bedford Johnson III, Cherylnn Johnson and Jonathan Jones all of Cambridge; she also raised Tishika, DeWayne and Martina Jones as her own; a brother, Wardell Jones (Louise) of Baltimore; sisters, Mary Pinder of Linkwood, Mable Lake of Williamsburg and Jerlean Dockins (Marcellus) of Cambridge; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were two daughters, Brenda K. Jones and Darlean Jones; a son, Garfield Jones; a brother, Curtis Jones; a sister, Annie Matthews; two brothers-in-law, Guy Pinder and Percy Lake Sr.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St., Cambridge. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Salem.
There will be a viewing Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
