EDEN - Joseph Christopher, 82, of Eden, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Coastal Hospice at The Lake in Salisbury. Born in Magnolia, N.J., he was the son of the late Clarence M. Christopher and Elfrida Mezger. He retired after 32 years as a welder from Crown Cork and Seal, formerly located in Fruitland. He served his county in the U.S. Navy and was a 50-year member of the Redman Tony Tank Tribe 141 in Fruitland. He was also an active member of the O. T. Beachamp Post 94 of the American Legion.. His beloved wife, Ruth Rohm Christopher, survives him. He is also survived by his three children, Karen Lesia of Briggsdale, Colo.; David Christopher of Cheyanne, Colo.; and Ralph Christopher of Fruitland. He is also survived by four stepchildren, Joseph Mancuso of Arlington, Va.; Roseanne Richardson of Salisbury; Mary English of Machipongo; and Tony Mancuso of Roswell, Ga. He leaves his two sisters, Marian Whitelock of Mount Vernon; Sarah Renshaw of Salisbury; and one brother, George Christopher of Fruitland. He was also loved by several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jennie Mancuso, brother, John "Jack" Christopher and sister, Margaret Hoover. A memorial service was held on Saturday at the Holloway Funeral Home on Snow Hill Road in Salisbury.
