HEBRON - Jolene Miles Pearce died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at her residence. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Simms and Elizabeth S. Simms of Hebron.
She grew up in Fruitland. She was a 1962 graduate of Wicomico High School and a 1966 graduate of Salisbury University. She worked for the Wicomico County Board of Education for 33 years as a public school teacher, teaching mainly at Fruitland Intermediate and at North Salisbury in the Magnet Program. She was a member of both the Ladies Golf and Ladies Auxiliary at the Elks Lodge No. 817.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, George Pearce of Hebron; a daughter, Sam Hickey of Hebron; stepsons, Jason Pearce of Fruitland and Rob Pearce of Westminster, Md.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Esther Pusey of Hebron and Brenda Miciotto of Bowling Green, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jolene was preceded in death by her first husband of 33 years, Donald L. Miles.
A graveside service will be held in spring 2021 at Allen Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Allen.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
