John H. Dixon Jr. CAMBRIDGE - John H. Dixon Jr. departed this life on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. He was born June 9, 1951 in Cambridge, a son of the late Helen O. Dixon and the late John H. Dixon Sr. John spent his life doing the work he loved most as an automotive technician. He resided in Plainfield, N.J. for several years before returning to his hometown of Cambridge in 1993. He is survived by a wife of 31 years, Sharon King of Cambridge; eight children - daughters, Desirae Dixon-King, Shantay King and Peggy King of Cambridge, Candace Grant of New Jersey, Johnnette Young of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sons, Ben McNeill, John H. Dixon III and Eric Hawthorne of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren, Carnell, Kalila, Sharon, Wayne, Jahkai and Tyler of Cambridge, Bre'ah and Justice of Pittsburgh, Vaughn, Renee, Pierre, Emmanuel, Ben, My'a El and Eric Jr. of New Jersey; brothers, James Dixon, Kermit Dixon, Vincent Dixon (May) and David Holland of Cambridge, Lee Dixon of Trappe, Kent Dixon (Tina) of Clinton; sisters, Corrine Molock of Cambridge, Mary Wilson (Shelton) of New Jersey, Eunice Felder (Isaac( of Baltimore and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday to be followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. at Refuge Temple in Cambridge. Burial will be at the Brisco Memorial Park in Cordtown. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
