Joan Rosa Lee Stanley, 64
CAMBRIDGE - Joan Rosa Lee Stanley, of Cambridge, departed this life on Friday, June 5, 2009, at her home in Cambridge. She was 64 years old, born in Cambridge, on Oct. 6, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Goldsborough Travers and Mabel E. Pritchett Travers. She attended Maces Lane High School where she graduated with the Class of '63. She worked at several places of employment including, Rob Roy, The Board of Education, Airpax, Dept. of Aging, Arcadia Agency and several local seafood factories. "Bun" as her loved ones called her, was very affectionate and friendly to everyone who knew her. She made friends with anyone she came into contact with. She loved her family, as well as a "very special" friend, Sylvester Major, who willingly helped care for her to the end. She leaves to mourn two daughters, Elease Ann Bryant (Cambridge) and Rose Marie Bailey (Adam Bailey Jr.), Baltimore; six grandchildren, Keith A. Bryant, Jr. (Danielle), Hampton, Ga., Marvis R. Robinson Jr. (Baltimore, Md), Ke'Onda N. Bryant, Ke'Andre L. Bryant (both of Cambridge), Marcus Robinson and MarQnet Robinson (both of Salisbury); five great grandchildren, Keith Bryant, III, Ke'Zaia Bryant, Key'Nia Bryant, Arhai and Jade Bryant; one brother, Kermit Travers; six sisters, Lulvadia Hunt, Doretha Sampson (Joe), Eula Travers, Millie Ann Lewis (Willie) and Beatrice Phillips (all of Cambridge) and Arlette Bolden (South Carolina); 46 nieces and nephews; two special friends, Marvis Robinson Sr. (who she took as a son) and Melvin Robinson as a brother and many, many other family members, all who cherish and love her. She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Marian McNamara. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Choptank Elementary School, 1103 Maces Lane, Cambridge, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
