Janine Maria Motsko, 74
TYASKIN, Md. - Janine Maria Motsko passed away at her home on January 26, 2022.
She was born in Baltimore, Md. on July 26, 1947 to the late Senius and Ida Smith. Janine graduated from Eastern High School, completed her Associates Degree at Baltimore Junior College, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Mount St. Agnes College and the Mercy Hospital School of Medical Technology.
In 1970, she married her husband and best friend, John Motsko, and shared close to 52 years of love and life together. Janine's true style and personality reflected everything she was and everything she loved. She fully extended herself towards her home, gardens, cooking, crafting, family, and friends while generously sharing the very things that mattered most to her with others. Her husband, children and four grandsons were the love of her life!
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, John Motsko; children, Jason Matsko (Monica) of Portland, Ore., and Julie Golightly (Stanwood) of Pittsville, Md.; four grandsons, Evan and Lucas Motsko, and Gardiner and Ian Golightly; brothers, Garry Smith (Sue) of Baltimore, Md., and Kevin Smith of Baldwin, Md.; sister, Yvette Severn (Todd) of Baldwin, Md.; five nieces; four nephews; many other extended family members; and an endless list of caring friends and neighbors. Other than her parents; Janine was predeceased by her sister, Nanette Smith.
While there is a void in the hearts of her loved ones, Janine leaves behind her legacy – 'Life is Good', Bon Appetit, and living life to the absolute fullest!
A private celebration of her life will be held in the spring on her beloved Nanticoke River.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a garden or making a donation to the West Side Volunteer Fire Department at PO Box 85, Bivalve, MD 21814.
