NANTICOKE - James Albert Turner Jr. died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Baltimore. Born in St. Michaels, he was the son of the late James A. Turner Sr. and Ada Jones Turner. A former member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir and United Methodist Men, he was also a member of the Salisbury High School Association. Prior to retiring, he was a self-employed waterman. He is survived by a son, James A. Turner III; four daughters, Michelle Moore-Alston, Debora Pollock, Marsha Davis and Vanessa Turner; a brother, Lawrence Lutrell Turner; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. His wife, Sarah L. Martin Turner, preceded him in death in 2004. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Elsey United Methodist Church in Bivalve. Entombment was at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of the Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
