SALISBURY - James Edgar Watson died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center on Mon., Mar. 16, 2015. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Harry Watson, Emma Melissa Adkins Watson Dykes and step-son of Harry Dykes. A veteran who served in the Navy, Army and Airborne, he had previously worked at Pealor Motors in New York, then the New York Power Authority, Indian Point 3, and retired from Delmarva Power in Maryland. He was also a Pentecostal ordained minister. A longtime member of Washington Engine Co. 2 in New York, his grandfather was a member of Salisbury Engine Co. 2 in Salisbury. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Delmar, where he served as a deacon and also sang in the choir. He currently was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Salisbury. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by identical twin children, Virginia and James Watson; and the mother of his daughter, Verna Jean Gilpin Watson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia Ann Seymour Watson; a daughter, Debra Jean Jaramillo of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service was held on Fri., Mar. 20, 2015, at the Church of God of Prophecy. Interment was at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
