WILLARDS - James A. Smith Sr., 66, of Willards, died on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born on Oct. 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Raymond Sr. and Iva Smith. He worked in construction all of his life; his greatest enjoyment was time spent with family and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Smith; children, Sheila Jones and her husband, Michael and their children, Harleigh, Ross and Dalton; Jamie Smith and his wife Dawn and their daughter Maddie; and David Smith Sr. and his wife, Jamie and their children, Katelynn and David Jr.; siblings, Raymond Smith of Willards, Frances White of Salisbury, Sandra Thawley of Salisbury and Maida Howard of Pittsville and a large beloved extended family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Davis. A visitation was held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. No formal services were be held.
