This week is another 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. This month's event is hosted indoors only -- so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street -- but there is still tons to do and see! From gallery shows, to live music and more -– it’s a great night to spend in Downtown Salisbury.

This month’s theme is FeBREWary – to coincide with Maryland’s official monthlong celebration, of craft beer with craft brew events on tap across the state.  As a part of the statewide promotion, Downtown Salisbury has created a FeBREWary Craft Beer Scavenger Hunt.  Enjoy a Maryland craft beer at each of Downtown Salisbury’s six bar locations in the month of February, and collect signatures to register for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate and a Downtown Salisbury hoodie sweatshirt!  Participants can pick up a game piece at the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, or at any of the six participating locations – The Brick Room, Roadie Joe’s, Market Street, Mojo’s, Brew River and Sushi de Kanpai!  No purchase necessary – see visitor center for details.

Salisbury Art Space is proud to announce the opening of a new exhibit, The Art and History of the Negro Leagues.  The exhibit, which will be open from February 15 to March 31, explores the history and impact of the Negro League baseball through historical artifacts and works of art.  The historic artifacts on display are largely the collection of Christopher Harrington, Chairman of the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Among the memorabilia exhibited are baseball cards, autographed balls and bats, equipment, and historic documents. The opening reception will take place during 3rd Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is open to the public, with special guest Coach Kirkland Hall, who played on the Oaksville team in Somerset County. Support for the exhibition was provided by Maryland Eastern Shore Baseball.

The restaurants and bars are also ready for a great night in Downtown Salisbury. Brew River has local rock band EastWood at 10 p.m.

Roadie Joe’s Bar and Grill has fantastic Mardi Gras specials all week, plus live music 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. by Miranda Haney and DJ E-State from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Mojo’s and Market Street Inn will both be ready for the dinner rush, and both have live music planned for the late night crowd.  Market Street Inn has DJ Juan and Mojo’s has DJ Vybe.

Downtown Trolley service will start earlier at 5 p.m. in front of the Guerrieri Academic Commons and will run until 7 p.m. Service will resume later that night at 9 p.m. and run until 2 a.m. Boarding is free with Gull Card or $1 otherwise and will bring you from Salisbury University and surrounding areas to Downtown’s exciting Third Friday festivities.
