Howard Hayman

SALISBURY -- W. Howard Hayman, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Salisbury. The son of the late Dr. Albin A. Hayman and Anna L. Hayman. He was a 1947 graduate of Wicomico High School and went on to attend Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. His extensive banking career started in 1952. In 1967 he was named the Senior Vice President of Eastern Shore Region of First National Bank of Maryland and he continued to excel in the banking industry. In 1999, he was the winner of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award, and was recognized for setting a standard of excellence for the banking industry in the region. He was a 22-year board member of Peninsula Regional Medical Center and a founding Director of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. He served as past president of the Salisbury,-Wicomico Economic Development Corporation and the Salisbury Optimist Club. He is survived by his wife, Audrey C. Hayman; children, Bob Hayman and J. K. Hayman; two grandsons; a brother, Tom Hayman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hayman. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
