CRISFIELD - Homer D. Tyler, Jr., 49, formerly of Smith Island, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born on Smith Island on July 5, 1957, he was a son of Homer D. Tyler Sr. of Crisfield and the late Helen Evans Tyler.

He was a lifelong waterman and a member of Ewell United Methodist Church on Smith Island, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 and the Sons of American Legion Squadron of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 in Crisfield.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Becky Tyler of Crisfield; his father, Homer D. Tyler Sr. of Crisfield; his brother, Lee Tyler and his wife Missy of Ewell, Smith Island; his sister, Dawn Marsh of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Julie Laird and her husband Randy Laird, III and their son Randy Laird IV of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Michelle Davis of Marion Station; and three nephews, Jamie and Kyle Tyler and Scottie Marsh.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The Rev. Bob Daniels officiated. Burial followed in Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Tawes Nursing Home Building Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.

Arrangements were in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.
