CAMBRIDGE - Goldie May Beckwith, 96, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Chesapeake Woods Center.

She was born in Cambridge on July 28, 1911 and was a daughter of the late Robert and Amanda Hubbard Rahe.

Mrs. Beckwith attended schools in Dorchester County. On April 13, 1932 she married the Rev. Walter L. Beckwith who passed on April 25, 1987. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed crabbing.

She is survived by three grandsons, Walter H. Beckwith of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Paul D. Beckwith of Leesburg, Va. and Mark C. Beckwith of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Iona Wilcox of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Beckwith was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Walter H. Beckwith; two brothers, Russell and John Rahe; two sisters, Sadie Wroten and Emma Rosetta.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Pam Bockart officiating. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
