SALISBURY - Glenwood Dodson died Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at his home. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Frank and Blanche Bell Dodson. A graduate of Cambridge High School, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant. He worked for McCrory Stores and retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance in 1993. He also worked for the city of Salisbury, retiring in December 2017. He was a member of the Salisbury Gun Club and active in the Christ U.M. Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and volunteered to feed and shelter the homeless. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aline Willin Dodson; two daughters, Karla Kelly of Salisbury and Julie K. Payne of Crisfield; two sons, Glenn E. Dodson Sr. of Odessa, Texas, and Stevan J. Dodson Sr. of Rock Hall; three grandsons, five granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Whitby of Easton and Dawn Holland of Newcombe, Md.; two brothers, Gilbert Dodson of Cambridge and Freddie Dodson of Horntown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Richardson and Louise Johnson; and a brother, James E. Dodson. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Interment was in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
