Gladys Ruth Campbell

CRISFIELD - Gladys Ruth Campbell, 80, of Crisfield, Maryland departed this life on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at her residence, she was born on April 14, 1933. She was the daughter of the late William, Sr. and Hilda Campbell. She leaves to cherish fond memories: three daughters, Laverne Johnson, Sheri Campbell both of Crisfield and Jamie Coston (Ernest) of Princess Anne; one brother, Harvey Campbell of Grasonville; one sister, Betty Cottman of Athens, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; her long time companion, Timothy Fryer and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John Foreman, Jr. and one daughter, Tracey Campbell; one grandson, Javon Brown; one great great grandson, Ke'Vaughn L. Armwood; two brothers, Herman and William Campbell, Jr.; three sisters, Mable, Florence and Diane Campbell. A funeral service was held 11 a.m., Saturday at Crisfield High School, with a viewing one hour prior. Rev. Bess McCallister was the Eulogist. A viewing was also held 6-8 p.m., Friday, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Crisfield. Interment Mt. Peer Cemetery was in Marion Station, Md. Arrangements entrusted to Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Crisfield.
