NORTH FORT MYERS - Geraldine R. "Jean" Brown of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away on March 3, 2014. Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Benjamin G. Travers and Adelle L Meekins Travers. Mrs. Brown was retired from the Insurance Industry and had been the Office Manager. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post #336 of North Fort Myers, Florida. She was a founding member of the North Fort Myers Girls Softball Association. She loved to read, fish, dance and bowl, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She had resided in North Fort Myers since 1969. Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, Bernard Brown, a granddaughter, Ashley Vickery-Wise, her step-father, Mace Insley and two brothers, Benny Travers and Leon Travers. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sheila Brown (Doug) Thompson, Wanda Brown (Joe) Wise and Jo Ann Brown all of North Fort Myers and Dean (Johnnita) Brown of Cape Coral, Florida; her grandchildren, Brian Gilman, Jason Adorno, Sabrina Wise, Skylynn Brown, Hayley Brown and Cole Brown; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Gilman, Kinsley Gilman, Iliana Adorno and Jason Adorno; her siblings, Daisy (Bill) DeLoach of Alabama and Sherry (John) Rinald of Naples, Florida. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
