CRISFIELD - Georgianna Smith, 94, of Crisfield, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield. Born in Crisfield, Sept. 15, 1917, she was a daughter of the late William and Georgia Ann Lawson Maddox. Her husband, Ewell Etheridge Smith, preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1979. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Crisfield High School. She was a devoted member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God in Crisfield. She also worked at the MAC Center doing crafts. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and cooking. She is survived by seven children, Mary Thomas of Delmar, Connie Eisenhaur of Salisbury, Nellie Hinman of Crisfield, Ewell Etheridge "Butch" Smith, Jr. and wife Dee of Baltimore, William T. "Ted" Smith and wife Gina of Crisfield, Emily Alexander and husband Terry of Pocomoke City, and Georgia Evans of Crisfield; a brother, William Maddox Jr. of Baltimore; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Collins in 2000; and two sisters, Emily Williams and Nellie Rueben. A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. Pastor Al Hinson officiated.
