Hurlock - George Lake Wilson died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. He was born on Dec. 19, 1923 in Ross Neck, son of the late Clinton Wilson and Elsie North Wilson. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Dorothy Parvin Wilson. At an early age his family moved to Cambridge where he attended school. He was employed as a young man by Cambridge Shipyard and Cambridge Wirecloth. He moved to Annapolis during the war years where he was a group leader building PT boats and was a member of Civil Air Patrol where he patrolled the Chesapeake Bay by plane. Upon his return to Hurlock, he owned and operated Wilson Body Shop. In 1947 he was employed by Continental Can Company as a tool and die maker where he received several awards and patents for his inventions. He retired in 1981 after thirty two years of service. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Cornersville where he helped to restore the church. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, and restoring antiques. He loved animals. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bressler and husband Ken of Severn; a son, William Wilson and wife Ruth of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Landon Bressler of Glen Burnie and Emily Roberts and husband Clay and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Abby Roberts of Parker, Colo.; a brother, Wesley Wilson and wife Beverly of Saco, Maine; a sister, Rosabelle Brown of Newport, Del.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lauretta Booze. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at East New Market Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge MD 21613. The Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market is handling the arrangements.
