George F. Phillipson, Jr., 67

SALISBURY - George F. Phillipson, Jr., 67, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at his home.

Born in East St. Louis, IL, he was the son of the late George F. Phillipson Sr., and the late Ernestine Phillipson. He was also preceded in death by an older sister Margaret, who died at birth.

George enjoyed hunting in New Mexico with his dear friends, Armand and Jack, also, in Maryland with his grandson, Kolin. A favorite hobby was building remote-control boats; he also enjoyed playing cards with the Friday night poker crew.

George was in construction management for many years. He was a project manager for SPN, Inc. from 2000 until December of 2006. Many friends, neighbors and co-workers across the United States will miss his intellect, his sense of humor and his positive outlook on life.

He is survived by his wife Claudia Pruitt Phillipson; daughters, Kimberly Howard of Hebron, and Natalie Brown of Portales, New Mexico; grandsons, Blake Richardson and Jordan Brown, both of Portales, New Mexico and Kolin Howard of Hebron; sisters, Judy Wirzberger of Freemont, California, Betty Jo Wiegers of Collinsville, IL and Sandy John of Maryville, IL. and husband George. Additional family members are; mother-in-law, Grace Pruitt of Tangier, Virginia, Deborah Holland and Fred of Laurel, Md, Carol and Lonnie Moore, Chris and Suzanne Pruitt and Jim and Renee Tyler, all of Tangier, Virginia. There are many wonderful nieces and nephews, one of which, Alex "Stretch" Moore is serving in Iraq.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 15, at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
