CRISFIELD - George Edward Jones, departed this life suddenly Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
He was born in Crisfield to Margaret Jones-Canterbury and the late George Whittington.
George grew up in Crisfield and was educated in the Somerset County School system, he also served in the U.S. Army. He was a long time member of the Crisfield Pride Elks Lodge 194. George was formally employed at Mrs. Paul's and PRMC.
For the last 10 years he was employed at UMES.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa; mother, Margaret Canterbury; two daughters, Kiara Jones and Eugenia Whidbee (Michael); two sisters, Verna Jackson and Gwen Reynolds (Gerald); two brothers, Booker Jones (Karen) and Weldon Jones (Vivian); four step daughters, Romenia Landford, Lynette Douglas, Fredia Douglas and Theresa Abdullah (Le).
The funeral service was held Saturday at Crisfield High School.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Anthony E. Ward Funeral Home.
