DELMAR - Fred Kenneth Geiger died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Frederick Geiger and Georgette Alexander Geiger. A U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II as an Aerial Gunner, he retired from the New Jersey Board of Education in 1986. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Friend of Bills, Ala-Non, American Legion Post 194 and VFW Post 64. He is survived by a son, Kenneth William Geiger of Delmar; and a sister, Helen Lyons of Pahrump, Nev. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Marie Geiger; and a son, Frederick Harold Geiger. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Jerusalem Cemetery in Parsonsburg. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
