Franklin R. O'Ferrall

SECRETARY - Franklin R. O'Ferrall passed away on Apr. 3, 2017, with his wife, Barbara, at his side. He was born in Cambridge on Sept. 20, 1941, and was the son of the late William Franklin Robert O'Ferrall and Margaret Adelaide Jackson O'Ferrall.
Franklin graduated from North Dorchester High School. Shortly after graduation, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Army and enjoyed his many jumps as a paratrooper with the 82D Airborne Division. On Apr. 1, 1966, he married the former Barbara Ann Figgs and they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Apr. 1, 2017. Franklin was employed by Perdue Farms of Bridgeville, for many years and retired in 2004.
Besides his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by a brother, William B. O'Ferrall.
Besides his wife, Franklin is survived by a son, Robert W. O'Ferrall; a daughter, Lisa Asplen; a granddaughter, Ava Asplen; two brothers, Daniel O'Ferrall and his wife, Beverly, and Larry O'Ferrall and his wife, Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, Apr. 6, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with the Rev. David Kreek officiating. Interment followed at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
