Frances E. Porter

Frances E. 'Snookie' Porter

CAMBRIDGE - Frances E. "Snookie" Porter passed away at her home Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2007. She was 84.

She was born June 9, 1923, in Denton, to the late John and Bessie Corkran Dennis.

She graduated from Denton High School. She was married on Dec. 24, 1947, to Vernon Lee Porter. Mr. Porter passed away on July 29, 1975. Mrs. Porter was a homemaker for most of her life.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue E. Corkran of Linkwood, four granddaughters, Tamara W. Little of East New Market, Lorrie L. Walter of Hudson, Julie L. Harding of Rhodesdale and Deborah S. Walker of Woolford, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Alice M. Johnson and Betty J. Gay, both of Easton and three nieces and two nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with the Rev. George Hufnagel officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

CAMBRIDGE - Luella Adkins Dail passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at the Dorchester General Hospital. She was 89,

She was the wife of the late William Herbert Dail.
