Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s Community Relations Director Roger Follebout was recently named the Rotarian of the Year for 2013/2014 by the Rotary Club of Salisbury.
The Rotarian of the Year is a loyal, dedicated Rotarian exceeding normal expectations of a member. They live a life that exemplifies “Service Above Self.”
Follebout was chosen for a variety of contributions over the past year, including his involvement in writing a district grant proposal for the Healthy Us collaboration with the YMCA; his work on promoting early literacy through our association with the United Way and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, to which we donated funds in the name of each meeting’s speaker; his work on our new brochure; and his many news releases on club meetings and activities.
Follebout is an active participant in many efforts to better the community, including the leadership of Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s annual free health event, HealthFest, as well as its annual Drive-Through Flu Clinic, scheduled this year for Oct. 16-17.
Follebout was also named a Paul Harris fellow by Rotary President George Whitehead. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition was established in 1957 and acknowledges contributions to the Rotary Foundation and its mission.
