Evelyn Wheatley, 90 BEAR, Del. - Evelyn Wheatley of Bear, formerly of East New Market, Md., died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at the Christiana Hospital in Newark. She was 90 years old. Born in E. New Market, Mrs. Wheatley was the daughter of the late William Sellers and Elsie Lankford Sellers. Her husband, Wilson Wheatley, died Sept. 23, 1971. Mrs. Wheatley was a housewife. She had lived in E. New Market and Rhodesdale, Md., for many years and had attended Trinity United Methodist Church there. She has lived with her daughter in Bear, since 1994 where she had attended the Victory Christian Fellowship Church in New Castle, Del. Mrs. Wheatley is survived by her daughter, Nelda W. Coombs of Bear; one son, Ronald Wheatley, also of Bear; one sister, Mary Frances Disheroon of Salisbury, Md. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 6 Cambridge Ave., E. New Market, Md., where friends may visit with the family one hour before the service. Rev. Delmer Willey will officiate. The interment will be in the E. New Market Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Victory Christian Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial donations to be given to the Victory Christian Fellowship Church, 100 Wilton BLVD., New Castle, DE 19720. Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton, MD 21629.
