SALISBURY - Evelyn J. Hastings Pippin died Aug. 5, 2016, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Dorothy Phiefer. She is survived by husband, Robert Pippin; children, Bernard R. Hastings, Jr., of Parksley, Tammy Hurley, of Eden, Anthony Hastings, of Vance, Ala., and Kimberly Welch, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Denise Hastings, of Deland, Fla.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Nora Reed, of Laurel, Mary Ann Andersen, of Lakeland, Fla., and Patricia Gardner, of Bartow, Fla.; a brother, Richard Phiefer, of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard R. Hastings, Sr.; and her brothers, Charles Phiefer and Joseph Phiefer. She was employed at Dresser Industries for 21 years and attended Siloam House of Fellowship of Eden. A funeral service was held at Siloam House of Fellowship in Eden on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016. Burial was in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
