CAMBRIDGE - Emma Marie Edger, 72, passed away at the Dorchester General Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007.

She was born in Cambridge on Jan. 3, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Calvin Paul and the late Naomi Travers Ewell.

She attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1953. She and Leigh B. Edger were married on Dec. 21, 1956. She worked at the Union Trust Co. and then at George B. Todd"s Insurance Agency, and for Fortenbaugh Motors and later Fuller Motors in Easton, Bill Strawn, Inc., SKS Auto Park and M&L GMC in Federalsburg as an office manager and comptroller.

She enjoyed being with her family, watching the Orioles, old movies and the occasional casino visit.

She was stricken suddenly on Aug. 30 and was taken to Dorchester General Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Leigh B. Edger of Cambridge; one daughter, April D. Edger and her companion, Mark F. Robinson of Cambridge; one son, Shawn Eric Edger and his wife, Marian Edger of Cambridge; eight grandsons, Dustin Edger, Allen Edger, Jason Edger, Bryan Edger, Corbin Edger, Cameron Edger, Wyatt Robinson and Ethan Edger; two stepgranddaughters, Brittany Christopher and Taylor Christopher. She is also survived by three nieces, Cindy Baker, Cindy Coleman and Reese Dawson; one nephew, Dennis Mitchell and a sister-in-law Pat Todd.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Travers and a sister-in-law, June Travers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Kevin E. English officiating. Burial will be at the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery.
