SALISBURY - Emma M. Muller died at Coastal Hospice At The Lake, Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Miles and Virginia Messick Miles. She acquired her early education in Bloxom and attained a degree in Radiology and gained employment at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She later acquired a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at Salisbury State College. In her late 20s, she traveled to Japan by herself on a steam ship to join her first husband, Dr. Leroy E. Johnson, as he was stationed at Tachikawa Air Force Base. She is a former member of a bridge club and the Pocomoke Garden Club, and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lee Johnson of Delmar; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Reed Muller; and a brother, William S. Miles. A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Internment was private.
