DELMAR - Emily Jane Elliott Sullivan died Friday, July 12, 2019, at Lakeside at Mallard Landing in Salisbury. Born in Delmar, she was the only child of the late Harold and Mildred White Elliott.
She graduated from Delmar High School in 1946 and graduated from Beacom Business College in Wilmington She worked as a stenographer for DuPont Co. in Seaford and spent many years working as a bookkeeper for Culver's Men Shop in Delmar. She was also a bookkeeper for Delmarva Health Centre. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar for over 70 years. She was also a member of the Junior Auxiliary Board at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and the Delmar New Century Club and Red Hats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Norman "Peanut" Sullivan. She is survived by her son, Terry Sullivan of Oxford; her daughter, Norma Sullivan Panichella of Delmar; four grandchildren; one great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Interment followed at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
