SALISBURY - Elizabeth "Liz" Hamilton died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Alexandria, Va. She was a daughter of the late Sarah F. and William F. Slater. Her husband, Tom Hehman, is the retired Director of the Wicomico Public Libraries. She attended school in Annandale, Va., and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science. Her library career spanned over 40 years of in school, public, academic and government libraries in Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. She served as President of the Virginia Library Association in 1993 and retired as Director of the Frankford Public Library in 2013. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Marc Hamilton of Huddleston, Va., and stepsons, Matthew Hehman of Baltimore and Christopher Hehman of Durham, N.C.. Another son, Todd Hamilton, preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at 2 p.m., with visitation at the church at 1 p.m. and a reception to follow the service. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
