FEDERALSBURG - Eleanor W. "Billie" Jester, 67, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, Del.
Born in Easton on Jan. 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Bryan F. and Eleanor Cox Turbitt Sr.
Ms. Jester graduated from Ridgely High School. She worked as a barber in the Federalsburg area before becoming a truck driver first for Glacier Refrigerated Express and later for Perdue, Inc.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Cole of Pensacola, Fla., Valerie Flatten of Federalsburg; three sons, Dawson Lord Jr. of Linkwood, Thomas Lord of Hurlock and Keith Lord of Bridgeville, Del.; four brothers, Frank Turbitt of Laurel, Del., Paul Turbitt of Seaford, Del., Bryan Turbitt of Federalsburg and James Turbitt of Seaford, Del.; two sisters, Patricia Griffin of Salisbury and Linda Torbert of Laurel, Del. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and two feline companions, Stormy and Muffin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jester, who passed away July 16, 1984.
A gathering of her family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home of her daughter, Valerie and Billy Flatten, 26796 Iron Gate Road, Federalsburg.
For those who desire, memorial donations may be made to the Caroline County Humane Society, 407 West Belle St., Ridgely, MD 21660.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Williamson Funeral Home, 311 South Main St., Federalsburg.
