SALISBURY - Elaine Lavinia Moore Peterson died Feb. 11, 2015. She was born on Apr. 10, 1930, the only child of the late Thomas and Lillian Nock Moore. She was raised in the small, close-knit community of Spence, near Public Landing. She and her husband, Calvin, were married in 1953; their marriage lasted until his death in 2010. She organized and led a Junior Choir at Christ United Methodist Church and established a youth volunteer organization for enriching the lives of those with disabilities. For many years she worked with the Holly Community, an organization devoted to enhancing the lives of the residents of Holly Center. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Abresch and Lynn Morgan; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wed., Feb. 18, 2015, at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
