CAMBRIDGE - Edna Pinder Worrell passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 30, 1926, in Cambridge, the fourth of five children of the late Fleetwood and Alice Pinder Waters.
Edna was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and a friend to all.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Worrell; a daughter, Alice (Pat) Blake; five grandchildren, Pamela, whom she raised, Renita Pinder, Alisa Molock (Tynell), Ronnie, Novel (Michelle) Pinder; 10 great-grandchildren, Antwine, La"Kia, Sha"Tonka, LaVishe, Sharda, Wy"Sheena, Rhonda, Ronnesse, Shawn and Mofasi Pinder; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Simmons and Mary Lunsford both of Philadelphia, Pa.; two aunts, Martha Jones of Cambridge and Delancey Young of Baltimore; a special cousin, Eloise Wright; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and bingo friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie and brother, Fleetwood Leroy Pinder; a grandson, Shawn Blake and a son-in-law, Charles Blake
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 712 Bradley Ave., Cambridge, with a viewing held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
