SALISBURY - Edna Irene Layton, 94, of Salisbury, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Eldorado, she was the daughter of the late L. K. Hackett and Edna Carlotta Bradley Hackett. She graduated from Goldey-Beacom College and worked as a secretary for Loyola Federal, Ed Sherman Reality and retired from Wor-Wic Community College. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Quillen of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Reid Layton; and two brothers, Luke and William O. Hackett. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury, with the Rev. George Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at the Unity-Washington Cemetery in Hurlock. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
