The Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation is investigating a home invasion that occurred Monday in Eden.

Maryland State Police said they responded to the 4000 block of South Upper Ferry Road for a burglary that occurred at 8:52 a.m.

They were told three young, African American males entered the residence, brandished pistols and demanded money and car keys from the elderly occupants, police said.

The occupants were asleep in their bed, police said.

One of the suspects struck the male victim in the head with a pistol and injured him. He was treated and released at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, police said.

The suspects fled before police arrival arrived, police said.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack and deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office arrived and searched the area. A police K-9 from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was involved in the search.

The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation was contacted and went to the home with the Maryland State Police Crime Lab.

Deputies said no arrests have been made, but anyone with information should call the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation at 410-548-4898.

Officials on lookout for possible police impersonator

On Oct.1 at about 11:40 a.m., Maryland State Police said they responded to a report of an assault on the Salisbury bypass.

Troopers said the victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for head, neck, and other injuries. Troopers said they met with the victim and learned she was driving on the bypass when her car was stopped by a dark, unmarked vehicle with emergency lights in the dash. The victim thought it was a police vehicle.

A man walked to her car window and immediately began assaulting her. The victim told police she was also robbed. She said the suspect was an African-American male wearing a dark blue shirt and matching pants.

Police said they believe he was impersonating a police officer. He is described as standing approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and being in his mid-40s.

The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation is asking those who were traveling on the Route 13 bypass southbound, between the Centre Road on-ramp, near the Centre at Salisbury, and the Route 50 west exit on Oct. 1, between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m., to contact them.

Investigators are especially interested in anyone who saw a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up on the shoulder of the road.

The vehicle belongs to the victim.

Stabbing leads to murder-attempt charges

A 60-year-old Salisbury man was charged with attempted murder and related charges after a stabbing on Lake Street on Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to Salisbury Police.

Police said at 11:30 p.m., they responded to the 400 block of Lake Street and found the victim, Christopher Williams, 27, of Salisbury.

He had a stab wound to his shoulder, police said, and was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was later released.

Police said an investigation determined Williams was involved in an argument with a man before the stabbing occurred.

Nelson Carr Sharps was arrested at the scene and also charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and wearing or carrying a deadly weapon with intent to injure, police said.

Police issue shoplifting arrests report

In an effort to reduce shoplifting in Salisbury, Salisbury Police have released the names of those arrested from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5.

Charged were Lindsey Marie Foster, 24, of Newark, Del.; Justin Phillip Gates, 30, of Delmar; Deangelo Devonte Booker, 26, of Salisbury; Justin Albert Dipaola, 28, of  Hebron; and Samuel Kevin Jones, 49,  of Delmar.
