SALISBURY - Earlene Lillian Smith, 89, of Salisbury, died Jan. 29, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine Shiles. She attended school in Wicomico County and married the late Robert Smith, Sr. in 1952. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She is survived by two daughters, Francine Ross of Tampa, Fla., and Wanda Bounds of Salisbury; four sons, Leighunt Shiles of Annapolis, Robert Smith Jr. of Salisbury, Rueben Smith of Raleigh, N.C., and Dorsey Smith of Salisbury; three sisters, Queen Shiles of Princess Anne, Girlie Shiles of New York and Ayeranna Shiles of New York; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Johnson, Ollie Snead, Mary Shiles, Florence Brown, and Marie Goslee; two brothers, Joseph Shiles and James "Bud" Shiles Jr. A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was held Feb. 8, 2016, at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
